The best restaurant kitchen door depends on your opening dimensions, traffic volume, equipment, and preferred appearance. A  single-panel door is designed for an opening suited to one panel with generally lighter people traffic, while a double-panel system uses two panels to provide a wider passage for carts and people.  Measure the finished opening and consider the width of carts, racks and equipment moving through it before ordering.

Are restaurant doors available in stainless steel?

Yes. TUFFBUILT offers brushed #304 Solid stainless steel door systems in single- and double-panel configurations. Optional impact protection and stainless steel frames are available for applicable configurations.

Pro Tuff 2 single doors and Pro Tuff 2 double doors and Ruff Tuff 2 single and Ruff Tuff 2 double doors feature polycarbonate shatter proof vision panels to help employees see approaching traffic. Standard window dimensions and optional larger configurations vary by model. Review the specifications for the product you are considering.

Here are some questions you should consider before looking for a Restaurant Kitchen Door System

Your Traffic and Usage Type and Choosing the Right Door for your Restaurant or Facility

• What kind of traffic passes through? Is it strictly light staff foot traffic (e.g., a lighter-duty Pro Tuff style) or heavy cart, rack, and equipment traffic (e.g., a heavy-duty Ruff Tuff II or PE-Series swing door)?
• How many times will the door open per day? High-volume commercial kitchens require heavy-duty impact-resistant panels and commercial-grade pivots or spring hinges that won't sag or drift over time.
• Do you need single-action or double-action (two-way) swinging? Two-way swinging doors allow staff to pass through hands-free from either direction.

Material and Durability

• Material matters when you consider the longevity of the doors. While aluminum doors offer a lower cost, the aluminum structure has a tendency to bend and dent easily while a door with internal steel structure won't warp, dent or bend.
